Kompas 071 is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation that provides assistance and support to those in need, with a primary focus on people on the move (refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers). At the core of our work lies the principles of solidarity, antifascism, antiracism, freedom, and equality for all.
Most of our activities take place at a day centre in Sarajevo, which offers a variety of services to those who need them. With the centre's opening, Kompas began offering a safe space for people on the move, providing a place to bathe, wash their clothes, receive necessities (such as clothes, shoes, food), or simply spend the day.
Hundreds of people rely on our support and facilities each month, whether they need clothing and footwear, hygiene items, information, or social and psychological support. To date, more than 20,000 people in need have visited our day centres in Sarajevo and Bihać, and our day centre in Sarajevo receives an average of thousands of visits each year. None of this would be possible without the generous support of those who recognize Kompas as a key actor providing essential assistance to people on the move in Sarajevo.
However, the needs and challenges faced by people on the move along the Balkan Route are constantly evolving, and we rely on your continued support to meet them head-on.
