ALCATRAZ ROUND TRIP SWIM CHALLENGE

Monday, September 29, 2025

It’s easy to believe that human trafficking happens somewhere else, far away, to someone else. But the reality is more heartbreaking: it’s happening here, in our own communities, in silence. Behind closed doors and under watchful threats, men, women and children are being bought, sold, and stripped of their humanity.

One woman saw that darkness - and decided to become a light.

This challenge is a 3-mile round trip solo swim open-water swim to Alcatraz Island. Join retired Major James “Dibo” Dibernardo (retired Miami-Dade Police Department), of 36 Years as he takes on this challenge to raise funds for survivors of Human Trafficking.

Human Trafficking involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. Every year, millions of men, women, and children are trafficked worldwide – including right here in the United States. It can happen in any community and victims can be any age, race, gender, or nationality.

Join the Embrace the Challenge by donating to this cause and sharing with family, friends, and business partners.

100% of your donations go directly to victim services.

Watch Jim Swim, the boat company pacific open water swim company has donated live GPS satellite tracking to watch on a computer.
